The ChaiPod has a conversation with Muslim rapper Miss Undastood one of only a handful of Hijab wearing rappers. Miss Undastood discusses the triumphs and challenges of being a scarf wearing, Muslim female rapper. She discusses the unique issues facing Muslim female performers and the subject matter in her lyrics. Never one to mince words this native New Yorker answers the ChaiPod questions with honest bluntness and wit. Listen to one of the only interviews on the web featuring a Muslim female rapper!

Miss Undastood is the 1st lady of Islamic Rap and she is under rated and a pioneer at the same time. I had the chance to see her perform in London, Paris, Sweeden and Dublin in Ireland.
I want my daughter to listen to people like her not other so called rappers.
Bless and keep on doing your thing!!!
What utter nonsense. Did our Prophet (SAW) approve of women jumping on the stage and singing in front of men as well, Astaghfirullah.
Jhangir: #1 It is well established in Islam that all matters not related to ibadah are considered halal and there must be a proof presented for someone to say that “such and such” is haram. Thus the question is for the questioner.
Thank you for visiting the site and please suggest to others. I welcome all respectful comments. They need not agree with my perspectives.

I’ma come back to comment properly, one cannot appreciate the ‘hijabi hip hop’ interview without headphones and at 2.40am in the UK morning.
